Bodrum Castle, which is an indispensable part of Bodrum squares, is of course one of the must-see places in Bodrum! It is known that Bodrum Castle, located on the rocky area between the two ports, was built between 1406-1523. The highest tower of the castle, which has towers named after the names of different countries, is 47.50 m above the sea. The inner castle is reached through 7 gates and there are various figures on the coats of arms above these gates. The castle, which was also used as a prison in its history, serves as the Underwater Archeology Museum today.

Did you know that one of the 7 Wonders of the World is in Bodrum? Of course, I’m talking about the Halicarnassus Mausoleum. Known to have been built in 350 BC and known as the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the Tomb of King Mausolus was preserved until the 16th century, but was destroyed during the Crusades. The besiegers use the stones they bought from here in the construction of Bodrum Castle. The museum, where you can see many remains of the mausoleum today, is only 250 m from the port.
