The bazaar, which was located between Tahtakale and Emir Han in the early years of the Ottoman Period, is located in the heart of the city, just below the Ulucami and Orhan Mosque, which have preserved their place for years. Afterwards, it was moved to Bedesten, which was built by Yıldırım Bayezid. Today, the Bedesten Jewelers’ Bazaar forms the center of the Grand Bazaar.
The remaining bazaars are located around the Bedesten. Sipahi Bazaar, Gelincik Bazaar and Haciivaz Bazaar, Coppersmiths Bazaar and Tahılpazarı were named as the Grand Bazaar at that time. During the Orhangazi period, the spaces between the inns were covered with roofs and covered bazaars were gradually started to be created.
